Claregalway GAA Club Notes - Week Commencing Monday July 13th 2015

Claregalway GAA want your unwanted clothing items. All types of old clothes and shoes are acceptable. No duvets or pillows please. Bags can be left at Claregalway GAA/Cairde Mor grounds in Knockdoemore during training sessions on Sunday mornings and most evenings while training is on.

Your contributions would be most welcome at this time of continued fundraising for the Claregalway GAA/Cairde Mor facilities in Knockdoemore.

In the U14 Girls the Green team played Dunmore in Dunmore on Wednesday evening July 8th. In a very competitive first half Dunmore took an early lead and led by a point at half-time. Fifteen minutes into the second half Dunmore had built up a lead of eight points, but from there on the Claregalway Girls stepped up their game and finished the game the stronger to end up winning by four points. Well done to all the Girls for hanging in there when the game was going away from them. Best wishes for a speedy recovery go out to Sinead Donovan who fractured her wrist in the game. Next up for the Claregalway Green team is against Corofin in Knockdoemore @ 7.30pm on Wed 13th July.

Congratulations to Claregalway Minor full forward, Cillian Green, who won the All Ireland U18 200m athletics title in Tullamore on Sunday. To add to this fantastic achievement, Cillian broke the Irish record with a time of 21.88 seconds. This is a huge step for Cillian who now gets the opportunity to compete on the Irish athletics team.   Congratulations also to U16 footballer and flying wing back, Sean Kilmartin who qualified for the All Ireland final in the 100 and 200 meteres in Tullamore. Sean is a huge prospect and we wish him well in his future quest to bring another title back to Claregalway. No doubt both lads will play an important part in the  respective upcoming U16 and minor championship games.

Lotto numbers last week 7, 10, 20, 25. There was no jackpot winner. Two match three winners get €100 each Derek Treacy Kiltulla and Lisa Glynn Cummer. The sellers prize went to Niall Nugent. The jackpot in now €7,400 and the next draw will take place in the Claregalway Hotel on Monday 13th July.
